iON ST AS IH61
Hankook iON ST AS (IH61) is built specifically for electric cars and plug-in hybrids, and despite the "AS" in its name Hankook classes it as a summer tyre. Round Even Technology spreads road pressure evenly, while the ProDurable compound is aimed at longer tread life, so the extra battery weight — an EV can be up to 30% heavier than a comparable combustion car — does not wear the tread unevenly. Opti Cure Technology lowers rolling resistance, which helps preserve driving range. Chamfered block edges, reshaped shoulder grooves and Opti Pitch sequencing take up to 1 dB off pattern noise, which counts when the motor itself is near silent. The tyre is M+S marked but has no 3PMSF symbol; several sizes come with XL reinforcement.
EU Energy Label
The EU Tyre Label provides standardized information about fuel efficiency, wet grip, and external rolling noise of tyres.
- Fuel efficiency – rated A (best) to E (worst). Better rated tyres reduce fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions.
- Wet grip – rated A (best) to E (worst). Better wet grip means shorter braking distance on wet roads.
- Noise level – external rolling noise in decibels (dB). Class A is quietest, C is loudest.
